Free narrowed his eyes at her. “The voice said Leave.”
“Yes the voice said to Leave.”
“Then what happened?”
“Well, I got my nerve up and went into the hallway to confront the ghost and nobody was there. I started searching the house and leaving the lights on. I didn’t want a repeat performance and I knew I had to get up early in the morning so I decided to sleep in the bathroom. I felt safer in there.” Bloom blew out the heavy breath she was holding.
“There is no such thing as ghosts, Bloom.“R.J. said that this house was haunted and that Rose had made peace with it, so I want to make peace with it too.”
“R.J.?” Free huffed out.
“Has R.J. ever seen the ghost?”Bloom rolled her eyes, knowing that whatever she said, he wouldn’t believe it.
“Look, I know what I heard and the voice told me to Leave. But I’m not leaving, so get that thought out of your head.”
“I never said that I wanted you too.” Free through it back at her.
“Then why are you trying to scare me?” Bloom whispered.Free cupped her face in his hands. She froze at the intensity in his eyes. At first it looked like his eyes had changed colors, but it had to be the light.
“It wasn’t me Bloom. I swear it.”
